At a glance
A quick orientation before the deeper read.
This is my current Salix Monitor 360 product plan, to be rolled out as a paid subscriber service and/or a white labelled offering. Coding has started officially this month, backups of progress is saved once a day, I am working through it modularily working on one section of functionality at a time. I expect (as its just me sitting in my home office with plenty of other things to be getting on with), it will take roughly 8 months to a year to get to a sellable state and safe enough to let users on the app.
I decided against using a PHP framework for this app such as Laravel or Symfony, so it is being built with a simple, direct PHP structure as a focused web application. It should be fast and be able to deal with large amounts of data and monitoring on many different user accounts.
Planned future development of Salix Monitor 360
There is a long list of features either in progress or parked on the roadmap. Below are some of the key future capabilities I want Salix Monitor 360 to handle as it matures:
- Detect when systems are compromised with application intrusion detection.
- Highlight all interactive and encrypted network sessions.
- Detect when new hosts are added to a network.
- Track which systems are communicating on which ports.
- Detect which ports are served and which are browsed by each system.
- Detect the number of hops to each monitored host.
Roadmap and in-progress areas
The pieces below are already working but are still being refined, or are actively being wired into the rest of the platform.
✅ Implemented but still expanding
- Alerts pipeline (rules → incidents → channel deliveries)
- Agents for Linux and macOS with clean JSON metrics and heartbeats
- Vulnerability scanning with multiple tools and downloadable reports
- User and organisation-scoped dashboards with a glassy UI and role-aware views
- Admin views for tracking background processing health
- Admin reports and executive summary layout, including chart polish
- Posture and hygiene hub (consolidated findings, trends and SLA views)
- More human-friendly alert messages and summaries in notifications
- Extra agent capabilities and visualisations for longer-term trends
⏳ Actively being built
- On-call and escalation policies (rotas, quiet hours, multi-step escalation)
- Clear hosted signup and account management for normal customer use
- A smoother onboarding flow for new organisations and administrators
- Payment controls, marketing and security admin interface for the main website
